The 60 For 31 Challenge

Thank goodness it’s Thursday, friends!  I’m ready for the weekend!  How about you?  I’m also so excited that it’s March and that I am starting the 60 for 31 Challenge today!  If you’re just joining us, then you may be wondering… “What’s the 60 for 31 Challenge?”

The 60 for 31 Challenge:

60 minutes of exercise.  31 Days.

That’s right—March is going to be a butt-kicker.  Literally.  But if you have lost your January motivation and need to kick it back into high gear, maybe this challenge is for you.  You get two cheat days for the month, so if you have something come up, you can always use one of your cheat days.  And if you want, you can do your own modified version.  Maybe you normally work out once a week.  You might try to work out every week day in March.  Or maybe you try to work out 5 or 6 days every week.  Create your own version of the challenge that will work for you but still challenge you!

Since today was March 1, it was also the first day of the challenge.  I got my workout in with an hour of Zumba tonight.  It was a great class with a dedicated group of ladies!  I actually put the toughest song I know on the playlist both tonight and Tuesday night.  I was trying to kick my own booty.  :)  I have so much fun with this class every Thursday!

I’ve got a new breakfast favorite… corn flakes with pumpkin seeds mixed in!  I know… it sounds weird.  But this breakfast will really stay with you all morning long.

Thursday dinners are a challenge for me.

Lots of times I want to get take-out because I am tired after teaching class.  But tonight I made myself cook a quick dinner.  Thanks to the convenience of steam-in-the-bag brown rice, this came together pretty quickly and was much better for me than getting take-out.

On the plate: lemon pepper chicken, whole grain brown rice, and sauteed baby portabella mushrooms.  The mushrooms were the best part!  Nom!

Okay friends, it’s time for me to sign off for the evening.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I am looking forward to a weekend of dancing, running, and even getting my hair did.
